A little red dress . . . .

$115.00

This little dress is quite early, I just love they style with the pleats in the front bodice.
Mid (to earlier?) 1800's.
By the style this could very well be a boys dress, but often those things are hard to tell. My gut says Boy ;-)
The fabric is a wonderful light weight wool, with brown braid trim.
The lining is linen on the bottom and a red print for the top.
Machine and hand stitching, all the buttonholes are hand done . . . interestingly black buttonholes on top and tan on the skirt.
There are a few small holes in the wool, not uncommon for age, (possibly 175 years old!)
On the back lower corner there is a dark stain, that is a lighter stain on the underside. it really doesn't detract from display.
We took a photo of our first granddaughter in this dress . . .

Length 18", chest 11", sleeve 7", shoulder 11"
