This sweet teddy is Mistress of the Honey Bees and Bumblers.
She closely guards her bee friends and they in return supply her with all the honey
she desires!
Honey Pie's head and upper body are created from soft hand dyed German mohair.
Her lower body "skirt pincushion" is hand dyed wool. with appliqué and embroidery.
It's difficult to photograph all the details but on her skirt there are 7 Bees, each embroidered with multiple bullion knots. Another tiny bee is on the little pincushion that hangs at her side and yet another tiny bee has landed on the back of her bonnet!
Honey Pie's bonnet and shawl are also created from hand dyed wool.
At her side along with the tiny pincushion hang a pair of scissors and a wooden spool of thread. An antique hat pin is stuck in for good measure!
She's nicely weighted and will keep you fine company while you stitch away the hours.
