Bella ~ Original Work ~ 7.5"

Something a bit different !
I purchased this antique dolly years ago with the idea of doing something fun with her.
She came labled as a "sewing doll" because she had 2 pieces of flannel (front and back), with pins and needles tucked in. Just like in an antique needle book.
Her only other clothing was pantaloons. Her body is pink cotton.
She may have been originally made this way, or someone might have added the flaps, but being a stitcher I was smitten.
Plus she has the most lovely face!

I have now added a skirt of early cotton with faded daisies and roses. To the skirt I added feather stitching up the front. Her added shawl is also antique cotton with a teeny bow.
NOTE: long ago her legs were glued back on (I bought her this way). I have not tried to repair them due to the glue, but her pantaloons cover pretty well and I don't think it detracts from her considering her overall age!

I also made her a teeny velvet berry . . . it hangs from her arm.
She will make a very sweet companion for a lovely stitcher.
