A Dapper Fall Fellow
~ This dear teddy was inspired by an early teddy bear. He is about 10" tall, has lovely amber glass eyes and is fully jointed. His style is perfect for a beginner as there are no paw pads to set in, yet he still has the look and charm of an olde ted. You will create Teddy from soft black German mohair, embroider his nose with Perle cotton, add glass eyes and joint him to be posable.
~ You will then dress your teddy in a woolen vest with wool appliqué accents and add a bow around his neck!
~ There are multiple ways to create movable joints in teddy bears and I show more than one style when I'm teaching. However, my kits include cotter pin joints (even for arms and legs) because most people have a needle nose plier around to tighten them with, the other types of jointing hardware take more specialized tools.
** I now include a bag of plastic pellets in all Olde Bear kits should you choose to make him a little "squishy" ! (To use pellets in the belly, add some regular stuffing to neck and shoulder area, and a teeny bit in the bumm. Pour in pellets to desired squishiness and top off with a layer of stuffing to more easily close the back opening.)
